the return of winter.

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the
landscape- the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter.
Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show.
-Andrew Wyeth

And like winter, we are waiting for our story to emerge.

How To Be An Explorer of the World

"At any given moment, no matter where you are, there are hundreds of things around you that are interesting and worth documenting."

I think I've read "How to be an Explorer of the World" by Keri Smith at least a dozen times and yet every time I open the book I learn something new. It is my travel bible. I'm going on my second copy of the book. Pages dog-eared, quotes highlighted, it teaches me to see and look at things differently, which I love and take the beauty out of the smallest things. I recently bought "LIFE: Wonders of the World". The book shows amazing photographs and text about 50 must-see natural and man-made marvels- I'm making my list. All I want to do is travel. There is so much out there I want to see and explore. And I am only starting my journey.
